OpenAI’s annualized revenue has reached nearly $70 billion as of September 2026, up from over $40 billion just one month earlier, representing roughly a 70% jump since the start of Q3. This growth is driven by enterprise sales more than doubling and consumer revenue in Q3 already surpassing the total consumer revenue generated throughout all of 2025. Oracle shares jumped 5.3% following the announcement, as OpenAI reportedly accounts for roughly half of Oracle’s compute backlog. Despite this explosive growth, OpenAI has not yet turned a profit, with computing costs required to train increasingly sophisticated AI models and run inference at massive scale continuing to consume enormous resources.
