According to Glassnode data, only 9 of the 50 largest cryptocurrencies have generated returns superior to Bitcoin since its peak last October. Zcash (ZEC) dominates the ranking with gains representing nearly 14.5 times those of Bitcoin, followed by HYPE (2.9x), XMR (2.6x), and NEAR (2.1x). The other 41 altcoins in the top 50 failed to surpass Bitcoin’s performance, illustrating the opportunity cost of transferring capital to riskier assets. This dynamic may be shifting: over the past week, more than 72% of tracked altcoins beat Bitcoin, pushing Glassnode’s altcoin cycle signal into altseason territory.
