Nvidia’s $15.6 billion in customer advances show demand, and a growing financing tab

In the first half of fiscal 2027, Nvidia recorded $15.6 billion in customer advances, more than doubling from $7.5 billion a year earlier, with $13.0 billion already recognized as revenue. The chipmaker’s supply and commitment backlog reached $279 billion, while accounts receivable climbed to $63.1 billion and Days Sales Outstanding extended from 45 to roughly 60 days. Five direct customers accounted for 70% of receivables, with one customer representing 16% of second-quarter revenue. In August 2026, Nvidia agreed to guarantee up to $105 billion in lease and power obligations connected to an OpenAI affiliate’s multi-phase data-center campus in Ohio.
