Binance Founder CZ Urges Wallet ‘Quarantine’ After $86 Million Ledger Reseller Hack

Binance co-founder CZ is recommending that cryptocurrency investors implement a strict “quarantine” period for new hardware wallets. Hundreds of investors in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines lost approximately $86.9 million following the hack of Ledger distributor CryptoBilis. Attackers physically intercepted devices at the reseller’s warehouses and replaced original instructions with pre-generated seed phrases. CZ advises keeping wallets unused for at least two weeks to allow on-chain analysts time to detect potential attacks. Ledger suspended sales through CryptoBilis and advises customers who purchased devices within the past 90 days not to activate them and to urgently move their assets to new addresses.
