NEAR Intents lost 3.87 million dollars in an exploit affecting eleven networks, including BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Optimism and Avalanche. The attack exploited a bug in the interaction between the Omni infrastructure, which manages deposits and withdrawals, and the protocol’s smart contract deployed on BNB Chain. The team halted services for about twelve hours, promised full reimbursement of lost funds and said it had contacted law enforcement. According to on-chain analyses, the stolen funds were sent to KuCoin and then bridged to Bitcoin: 34.69 BTC spread across four wallets remain untouched. The NEAR token price dropped after the announcement, and Bitwise’s NEAR ETF fell by 7 %.
