Moscow Exchange (MOEX), Russia’s largest financial market, is set to launch perpetual futures on Bitcoin and Ethereum in September 2026, coinciding with a new digital asset law taking effect on September 1. The exchange plans to expand its offering to ten tokens total, having already introduced futures indices for Solana, XRP, Tron, and BNB. The cash-settled contracts will feature automatic daily rollover. These products will only be available to qualified and professional investors, excluding retail traders initially. The new law establishes a formal regulatory framework for digital asset exchanges and custodians while maintaining Russia’s ban on cryptocurrency as a payment method.
