Brazilian crypto exchange Mercado Bitcoin has suspended deposits and withdrawals after losing an estimated $46 million in a hack. The platform says it contained the incident, that no customer funds were harmed and that no data was breached. Analyst Emmett Gallic estimates that losses could continue to rise as hackers sweep old deposit addresses and sell memecoins and altcoins. Competent authorities are investigating the attack, while node operators, including those managed by THORChain, have been instructed to block the transactions involved.
