Mastercard is partnering with stablecoin infrastructure provider Borderless.xyz to integrate verified identity checks directly into stablecoin transfers using the Crypto Credential framework as the compliance layer. This solution allows users and businesses to interact through verified aliases instead of 42-character wallet addresses. Borderless.xyz operates a unified API connected to over 14 licensed stablecoin providers, supporting transactions across more than 94 countries and over 63 fiat currencies, with SOC 2 Type II certification. In March 2026, Mastercard launched its Crypto Partner Program with over 85 entities signed on to develop practical stablecoin applications, focusing on cross-border and B2B transactions. This initiative positions Mastercard against competitors like Visa, which is building its own stablecoin settlement capabilities, and Stripe, which acquired Bridge last year.
