Lithuania has tightened its crypto tax reporting rules. On September 24, 2026, the State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) issued Order No. VA-63, updating the crypto reporting regime under the EU’s DAC8 directive. Crypto-asset service providers must now collect and submit user identities, tax residencies, account balances, and details on transactions exceeding $50,000 equivalent. Annual reports are due by May 31 each year, with the first deadline set for May 31, 2027, covering calendar year 2026 data. EU-wide automatic data exchange is slated to begin in mid-2027.
