Hong Kong-based L2 Capital has partnered with Newton Labs to tokenize 500 million dollars worth of pre-IPO AI company shares. L2 Capital becomes the first partner on a platform Newton Labs is still building, centered around the Newton Protocol, an on-chain authorization layer that embeds compliance rules directly into each token. The protocol verifies investor eligibility, sanctions screening, jurisdiction restrictions and transfer limits before any transaction settles. Newton Labs, formerly known as Magic Labs until its rebranding in July 2026, sold its embedded wallet business to Payward, the parent company of Kraken, before narrowing its focus to the protocol whose mainnet beta launched in June 2026. The 500 million dollar figure represents a target rather than assets already on-chain, as the platform has not yet been completed.
