JERA’s venture capital arm has participated in a 150 million dollar Series A funding round for Emerald AI, a startup specializing in dynamic power management for AI data centers. The round, held on August 25 and oversubscribed, included NVIDIA and Siemens and values the company at approximately 1.05 billion dollars. Emerald AI has developed software capable of reducing a data center’s power demand by up to 40 percent in under a minute, a capability demonstrated in a trial conducted in December 2025 using 96 NVIDIA GPUs. The company has since completed five commercial demonstrations and plans a 100 megawatt pilot facility in Virginia, home to the world’s densest concentration of data centers. Morgan Stanley forecasts that data centers will account for nearly 20 percent of global electricity demand growth through 2030.
