Binance reopened withdrawals for the Hyperliquid and Aptos tokens after completing an audit, a move confirmed by the platform’s co-founder and president, Yi He. The decision came after Binance temporarily suspended HYPE withdrawals, which became the last eligible token and drew backlash from its holders. According to the FBI and Chainalysis, the North Korean group TraderTraitor drained about $6.3 billion from Binance’s hot wallets in 20 minutes. Binance blocked $3 billion with the help of Tether and Circle, covered all customer funds through its SAFU fund and conducted audits across the Solana and Ethereum chains before progressively restoring withdrawals from November 1. The delay also reflected the need to audit Hyperliquid’s proprietary HyperEVM architecture, which differs from the Ethereum Virtual Machine and Solana networks.
