Hana Bank issued a 100 million US dollar foreign-currency digital bond on September 18, 2026 through Euroclear’s D-FMI platform, achieving T+0 settlement for the first time on any Korean foreign-currency bond. The transaction was completed in hours instead of the usual three to five business days, eliminating the counterparty risk window inherent in standard settlement. The bond carries a five-year maturity and was structured under a standard Global Medium Term Note program. Euroclear has facilitated over one billion euros in digital native note issuances since the platform’s launch in 2023, with the inaugural transaction having been conducted with the World Bank.
