Grayscale Investments, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI) have submitted comment letters to the Securities and Exchange Commission urging it to preserve existing classification frameworks for exchange-traded products rather than applying one-size-fits-all regulatory approach. These three major crypto industry players share the same message: each novel exchange-traded product has its own specifics and should not be treated the same as others. They propose that differentiated review processes could lead to faster approvals without sacrificing investor protections. This request comes in a context where the SEC approved in 2025 generic listing standards for certain commodity-based ETPs, from which Grayscale’s Digital Large Cap Fund benefited.
