Google plans to invest $15 billion in its Malaysian data centers, up from the $2 billion announced in May 2024 for its first site in Selangor. The company is developing three locations forming a “strategic triangle,” at Elmina, Puncak Alam and Serendah, to maintain service continuity if one site experiences disruption. Its future Port Dickson campus in Negeri Sembilan will cover 389 acres and have an estimated capacity of 500 MW to 1 GW. Google will also spend $160 million on shared water infrastructure, including a reservoir and a treatment plant that will provide 65 million liters of potable water daily. The overall project is expected to generate more than $3.2 billion in economic benefits by 2030, while the first 100 MW phase in Selangor is scheduled for completion in 2026.
