Genius Group, an NYSE-listed AI-powered education company, announced a plan to build parallel AI and bitcoin treasuries worth a combined $1.6 billion, with total company assets targeted at $2 billion by fiscal year 2031. The company sold its entire bitcoin reserves in April to repay $8.5 million in debt, after being forced by a court order to reduce holdings that had grown from 440 BTC in February 2025 to approximately 84 BTC a year later. The liquidation, reportedly at a loss, left the company with no crypto reserves. The rebuilding will be funded through the issuance of Perpetual Preferred Securities under a $1.2 billion SEC-cleared shelf registration, with an initial target of $12.5 million. This strategy mirrors the model of Strategy, which has raised over $16 billion via perpetual preferred stock for its bitcoin holdings.
