Florida judge orders Fundsz promoters to pay over $30 million in crypto fraud case

A federal judge in Florida ordered Brian Early and Alisha Ann Kingrey, both board members of Fundsz, to pay approximately $31.48 million in a fraud case. The amount includes $15.73 million in restitution for defrauded investors and $15.75 million in civil monetary penalties. The Fundsz platform, which promised returns exceeding 3% per week through cryptocurrency and precious metals trading, attracted more than 9,000 investors. The CFTC alleged that the proprietary algorithm presented as generating these returns did not actually exist. To date, only about $4 million has been recovered, primarily through asset recovery efforts by the estate of founder Rene Larralde, who died in 2023.
