Dutch police arrested two men suspected of using counterfeit EURC tokens to purchase genuine Rolex watches on the online marketplace Marktplaats. Several victims reported being defrauded in August 2025 after handing over their watches believing they had received legitimate EURC. The suspects, aged 24 and 45, were arrested on September 9. The older suspect has been released but remains under investigation. Authorities are warning crypto users about unofficial tokens mimicking legitimate stablecoins.
