A series of at least seven explosions struck Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone on August 5, occurring over approximately 20 minutes. UAE authorities are describing it as an industrial warehouse fire, while Iranian and Iraqi media outlets are reporting it as a Houthi missile or drone strike from Yemen. No casualties have been reported so far. Jebel Ali, operational since 1985 and managed by DP World, hosts over 11,000 companies from more than 150 nations, making it one of the Middle East’s most critical logistics hubs. Dubai, which has been building itself as a global crypto hub under VARA’s oversight, has no crypto-related entities directly linked to the explosions at this stage.
