Euro-denominated stablecoins add $17M in market cap in seven days

Euro-pegged stablecoins added $16.5 million in market cap over a single week, pushing the sector’s total valuation to approximately $673.9 million by mid-2026, representing 128% year-over-year growth. The EU’s MiCA regulation, fully implemented at the end of 2024, has acted as a quality filter, granting legitimacy to compliant issuers with banks and payment processors. Circle’s EURC commands the market with roughly 41% share (~$430 million), followed by Société Générale’s EURCV ($137.8 million) and Banking Circle’s EURI ($51.1 million). Circle has called on the EU to revise MiCA’s market-cap thresholds, warning they could structurally limit how large euro stablecoins can grow.
