The SEC approved Cboe BZX’s rule change on Oct. 2 to list Volatility Shares’ proposed 3x Ethereum ETF ETHK. A 3x fund with $362.1 million in assets would target about $1.09 billion in exposure, equal to 8,000 CME Ether futures contracts, the aggregated accountability level. The existing ETHU already held 19,204 October CME Ether futures contracts, representing 2.4 times that threshold. If CME aggregates positions from both funds managed by Volatility Shares, the combined footprint would reach approximately 27,200 contracts at $362.1 million of ETHK assets.
