The Glamsterdam network upgrade proposes to increase Ethereum’s gas limit from 60 million to 200 million units, representing a 3.3-fold boost that could allow more transactions per block. Activation on the Hoodi testnet is scheduled at epoch 132,352, slot 4,235,264 on October 26, 2026 at 17:42:48 UTC. This increase aims to better reflect the cost of execution and state growth on the network. The Hegotá fork, planned for 2027, could be Ethereum’s last “normal” fork according to creator Vitalik Buterin. This version is expected to include 23 EIPs, including FOCIL and Frame Transactions, before the transition to quantum-safe technologies such as recursive STARKs.
