The Ethereum Foundation postponed the Hoodi fork, a step in testing the Glamsterdam upgrade, after discovering compatibility issues related to gas accounting. EIP-8037 and EIP-8038, which modify the gas calculation model, were identified as requiring closer scrutiny. ChainSecurity flagged projects that depend on invariants that the proposed changes could break, potentially causing incorrect behaviour, unexpected failures or security exposure. The Foundation is working with ChainSecurity and Dedaub to audit affected applications, while development of the later Hegota upgrade continues in parallel. No new deployment date has been set, and teams must review their contracts before Hoodi testing resumes.
