Equinix announced the launch of Equinix Fabric One on September 2 at the Equinix Horizon event. This managed connectivity service relies on intent-based automation: enterprises define their connectivity goals and the platform automatically determines the optimal routing. The service enables connections between on-premises, cloud, and edge infrastructure through a unified platform, leveraging the OpenAPI 3.0 Interconnect specification developed with AWS and Google Cloud. The beta version is planned for late 2026 with general availability in 2027, initially in North America before global expansion. Equinix already operates an interconnection infrastructure connecting more than 10,500 businesses and approximately 3,000 cloud and IT providers.
