The billionaire had simply copied an image created for a Sotheby’s auction without spending a penny, before reverting to his previous profile picture. The ApeCoin token, associated with the Bored Ape ecosystem, surged by approximately 20% following this gesture. Four years later, Musk commented on this reminder with a simple « lol » on X, repeating exactly the same act of mockery toward the NFT sector.
