Dubai-based Emirates Airline announced Tuesday the integration of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments through a partnership with the Crypto.com platform. Customers holding a Crypto.com account can now select Crypto.com Pay at checkout on emirates.com or through the Emirates App. This option is currently limited to UAE residents making bookings priced in Emirati Dirham. The integration relies on Crypto.com’s Dubai-based entity, which was the first virtual asset service provider to receive a Stored Value Facilities license from the Central Bank of the UAE. This initiative supports Dubai’s Cashless Strategy, part of the D33 Economic Agenda, aiming to make 90% of transactions digital by the end of 2026.
