Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei clarified that his company never advocated for banning open-weight models, while expressing concerns about authoritarian governments developing AI for military or surveillance purposes. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong rejected calls for a new AI regulatory body, arguing that existing fraud, tort, and consumer protection laws are sufficient to cover any harm caused by AI models.
