The DATA Foundation and Sui Foundation announced that the DATA Network and its Trace registry, containing over 250 million verifiable receipts for AI training data, are joining Sui infrastructure. Sui Foundation is investing $30 million in the DATA Network, establishing the largest institutional stake in the network. The DATA protocol will be upgraded to run natively on Sui, with Walrus becoming the default storage layer for DATA Foundation applications. This integration aims to meet the provenance and consent requirements mandated by the EU AI Act and ongoing litigation over training data.
