Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Israeli forward Anan Khalaili from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for approximately £21 million (€24.5 million), setting a record for the most expensive Israeli footballer in history. The 21-year-old, who already has 16 senior caps for Israel, has signed a five-year contract through 2031 with an option for a sixth season. He becomes Palace’s fifth summer signing after a proposed move to Inter Milan collapsed. Having come through Maccabi Haifa, Khalaili helped Union Saint-Gilloise win their first Belgian Pro League title in 90 years and the Belgian Cup. Maccabi Haifa are set to receive approximately €3 million from the transfer under contractual arrangements.
