SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, widely known as « Crypto Mom, » has officially submitted her resignation. Her decision takes effect October 2, concluding nearly eight years at the US financial markets regulator. Appointed in January 2018, her original term was set to expire in 2025, but SEC rules allow commissioners to remain in office for approximately 18 additional months. She will join Regent University’s School of Law as an associate professor in November.
