Greek Parliament adopted a crypto tax framework on November 5, taking effect on January 1, 2027. Annual net capital gains realized by individuals will be taxed at 10% once they exceed EUR 500, with the entire amount becoming taxable. Income from staking, lending and liquidity provision will face a 15% rate. Eligible annual losses can be carried forward for five years, while a 12-month procedure will allow taxpayers to declare certain past income without penalties, although the corresponding tax will still be due. The framework is part of the broader strengthening of European tax transparency, with the first administrative data transmissions scheduled for no later than September 30, 2027.
