OKX has restricted its employees in Hong Kong from using Claude, the AI model developed by Anthropic, after the company’s corporate account was briefly suspended in early August. The restrictions also apply to staff traveling through China, as Anthropic’s policies prohibit access from unsupported locations including Hong Kong and mainland China. This decision is particularly notable as OKX actively encourages AI usage among employees, incorporating AI proficiency into performance evaluations while spending between 6 million and 8 million dollars monthly across major language model providers. Similar situations have occurred at Goldman Sachs in April and Alibaba, which banned its own employees from using Claude Code in July.
