CoreWeave stock slides as neocloud debt fears spread across the AI trade

Share

CoreWeave shares fell more than 15% during the week beginning October 14, 2026, bringing their monthly losses to around 30%. Its debt, estimated at between $50 billion and $52 billion, is nearly ten times its $5.1 billion in annual revenue, while yields on its bonds have reached 15% to 16% and the cost of insuring against a default has risen to about 1,000 basis points. Against a $1.2 billion net loss, the company must convert its $104.2 billion backlog into cash collections fast enough to service that debt. The selloff has spread to other AI-focused cloud providers and Oracle, making financing and execution the main risks to monitor despite continued strong demand.
