Coinbase Optimistic About Clarity Passage Despite Plunging Odds

Coinbase Vice Chair Ryan VanGrack remains optimistic about the Clarity Act passing before the August recess, despite odds having dropped to just 24% on Polymarket, down from 57% in early June. The multi-hundred-page bill establishes customer protections and law enforcement tools. Senate Democratic leadership is attempting to delay the procedural vote, but Senate Majority Leader John Thune insists it will still take place. Coinbase has also sued the SEC to force the agency to publish rules regulating the sector. According to research firm Bernstein, failure to pass the Clarity Act could weigh on crypto asset valuations by prolonging regulatory uncertainty in the U.S.
