Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis reported that an external attacker accessed certain internal systems and tools, exposing customer information including user IDs, names, email addresses and organizational roles. Its investigation found no evidence that more sensitive data, such as passwords, multifactor authentication secrets or session tokens, was compromised. The company did not disclose how many customers were affected or identify the attacker, and has brought in external cybersecurity specialists to investigate the breach and strengthen its defenses. Chainalysis advised customers to watch for unusual password-reset requests and authentication prompts, while stating that the incident was unrelated to the $6.3 billion Binance theft. The breach comes as the company tracks assets stolen from Binance and attributes nearly 89% of reported cryptocurrency hacking losses in 2026 to suspected North Korean groups, compared with about 15% in 2021.
