The Cardano Foundation announced on October 8, 2026, at TOKEN2049 in Singapore the spin-off of Veridian, its digital identity platform, as an independent company after three years of internal development. Veridian’s shares became the first assets issued under Cardano’s new CIP-0113 programmable token standard, which launched on mainnet the day before. The platform enables identity verification for individuals, organizations, and AI agents using the open KERI and ACDC standards, with a mobile app available on iOS and Android. The shares were issued on Cardano’s blockchain in compliance with Switzerland’s distributed ledger technology regulations. Veridian plans to expand in US government sector, European enterprise, Asia-Pacific issuers, and AI agent identity verification.
