California man arrested over alleged $300 million Nvidia AI chip smuggling scheme to China

Greg Lui, 38, owner of Earthmade Computer Inc., was arrested on October 1, 2026 in Los Angeles. He is accused of shipping more than $300 million worth of GPU servers to China between 2023 and 2024, using Malaysia and Singapore as transit countries with falsified documents to circumvent export controls. The indictment specifically mentions a transaction of 27 Nvidia H100 servers worth approximately $7.6 million in January 2024, as well as $176 million received from two Malaysia-based shipping companies. He faces up to 20 years in prison for conspiracy and money laundering.
