Bullish: Bitcoin Exchange Reserve Drops to 2023 Lows

Share

Bitcoin exchange reserves have suddenly hit a multi-year low, with approximately 2.68 million BTC held across exchanges as of October 3. This decline follows increased demand as traders aggressively purchased tokens after Bitcoin briefly recovered to around $87,000. The last peak occurred in early 2024 at roughly 3.2 million BTC when Bitcoin was trading below $70,000. While decreasing exchange reserves are often viewed as a potential sign of accumulation or long-term holding, analysts caution that outflows from major exchanges like Binance may be attributed to other factors. This downward trend has persisted through Bitcoin’s rally to $73,000 in 2024, its bull run to $126,000 in 2025, and the subsequent market pullback in 2026.
