Base, the Layer 2 incubated by Coinbase, activated Cobalt on September 30 as its third major mainnet update. This update introduces Validity Transactions, conditional orders that execute only when predefined criteria are met, such as pool price or block number. It also extends the B20 standard with Composite Policies, allowing combination of KYC or sanctions lists without address duplication. Cobalt additionally adds an optional administrative token seizure function, with the operation recorded on-chain.
