BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust has outperformed Vanguard’s popular S&P 500 fund since its January 2024 launch. According to Bloomberg data highlighted by senior analyst Eric Balchunas, the BlackRock product’s cumulative return reached 71%, compared to 66% for Vanguard’s ETF over the same period. BlackRock’s fund now manages $61.4 billion in assets, far ahead of the second-largest bitcoin ETF, Fidelity’s offering, which manages nearly $11 billion. Bitcoin recently stood at around $77,539, up nearly 30% over the past month, with more than $2.8 billion flowing into bitcoin ETFs between August 17 and 27.
