BlackRock purchased 27,722 BTC (approximately $2 billion) and 385,633 ETH (approximately $961 million) over an eight-day period, according to on-chain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence. The asset manager’s total crypto AUM reached $68.48 billion by late August 2026, up from $53.36 billion earlier in the month, a $15.11 billion increase in a single month. The Bitcoin ETF IBIT recorded approximately $1.33 billion in net inflows over five days, while Ethereum ETFs ETHA and ETHB attracted roughly $537 million during the same window. BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF is absorbing far more than the roughly 450 BTC produced daily through mining, outpacing weeks of new supply in just days. Coinbase Prime remains the primary custodian for these holdings.
