Bitcoin: whales who bought during the bear market realize $1.2 billion in profits in 3 days

Bitcoin’s new whales, defined as addresses holding at least 1,000 BTC with an average acquisition age under 155 days, realized over $1.2 billion in profits in just three days, a historic record for this metric according to CryptoQuant. The peak of gains was reached on August 20 with approximately $614 million in a single day. BTC crossed above $80,000, up more than 24.5% over the past seven days, roughly 12.8% above the average acquisition price of these large holders, around $68,900. These new whales accumulated during the market correction phase between February and June 2026, while BTC dropped more than 53% from its October 2025 peak above $126,000. US spot Bitcoin ETFs also recorded $1.9 billion in net inflows last week, a record since October 2025.
