Bitcoin rebounded from local lows of $80,350 to reclaim $83,000 at the Wall Street open on Friday, avoiding fresh losses despite reports of a security flaw affecting Ledger hardware wallets. Crypto markets avoided significant selling pressure following Ledger’s acknowledgment of fund thefts, which the company linked to a reseller based in Southeast Asia. BTC/USD continued trading around the key $82,500 support level as traders focused on the weekly candle close and upcoming US macro catalysts. Bitfinex Alpha forecasts range-bound consolidation between $81,300 and $86,500 until the October 14 US CPI release, with repeated retests of the $84,000 level.
