Yuri Belenkiy, a 49-year-old Russian IT specialist holding a Bulgarian residence permit, has been detained in Russia since September 2025 on terrorism financing charges, accused of sending over 700 dollars in cryptocurrency to fundraising efforts linked to the Ukrainian army. According to documents reviewed by Reuters, the platform shared the accused’s identity, transaction history, date of birth, address, phone number, and identity documents. A cryptocurrency regulation lawyer believes this disclosure could have violated GDPR if the account fell under European Union jurisdiction, though this has not been established.
