Big Week Ahead as XRP Ledger Eyes Cleanup Upgrade

Share

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is preparing to activate the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment this week, combining fixes for Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, Automated Market Makers, the permissioned DEX, trust lines, NFTs, MPTs, Escrow, Sponsorship, transaction signing and permission delegation. If the required 80% voting threshold is sustained, the network activation could take place as early as November 4, 2026 at 2:46 PM UTC. Developers are also preparing fixCleanup3_5_0, which is intended to close four exceptions allowing some holders to bypass issuer approval for regulated assets, although the changes have not yet been merged into the main software. In parallel, XRP Ledger node and validator operators were alerted to a critical Linux kernel vulnerability affecting unpatched kernels 4.4 and later with an open IPv4 TCP port. Patches are already available for several Linux distributions, while Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky and CentOS Stream users may need to take additional steps after a reboot or an nftables ruleset reload.
