Bank of America spends $250 million a year on GLP-1 drugs for its employees, CEO says

Bank of America spends more than $250 million per year covering GLP-1 weight-loss drugs for its approximately 211,000 employees, CEO Brian Moynihan told CNBC. The figure, up from zero four or five years ago, is part of an overall annual healthcare budget exceeding $2 billion for the second-largest U.S. lender by assets. The company pairs access to treatments such as Ozempic and Wegovy with health coaching to monitor weight loss and lifestyle changes. Moynihan highlighted emerging clinical data suggesting near-term benefits, including a lower incidence of cardiovascular events. The bank is also leveraging its size to negotiate lower prices from drugmakers and pharmacy benefit managers.
