Before working on AI safety at Anthropic as head of the Alignment stress-testing team, Hubinger held a software engineering position at Ripple, where he contributed to designing Interledger and developing cryptographically secure wallets for financial institutions. Alex Thorn from Galaxy Research responded to this viral claim by noting that XRP’s price remains below its January 2018 high. Hubinger ultimately clarified that current models pose low risk, but expressed concern about the emergence of superintelligence through recursive self-improvement of AI.
