In May 2025, Elon Musk said he would sharply reduce his political spending while leaving himself room to reverse course. Since then, he has given $427.5 million to federal political committees, compared with $243.2 million personally given by George Soros over 47 years of records. Most of Musk’s money arrived after July 1, 2025, including $158 million to SLF PAC, $165.6 million to America PAC and $20 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund. Musk’s lifetime contributions to federal committees totaled $723.8 million, about three times Soros’s personal federal total, but the ranking changes when groups funded by the Soros family are included.
