Aave and Pendle may have found a way to keep yield capital from ever leaving DeFi

Approximately $67.4 million in PT-AUSD collateral is set to mature on Aave Monad on October 8th. A replacement market maturing December 17th has been deployed by Pendle, with TokenLogic proposing to list these tokens on Aave to enable borrowers to roll over positions without losing collateral utility. The October market grew rapidly from an initial $20 million cap to $67.4 million, while AUSD borrowing demand on Monad accelerated with loans jumping 113% to $8.7 million and user deposits more than doubling to $11.2 million. This creates a potential cycle where investors lock in returns through PT-AUSD, use positions as collateral to borrow stablecoins, and migrate to later-dated PT, potentially keeping fixed-yield capital within Aave after each Pendle market expires.
