As of November 7, 2026, 99.7% of the 369.7 ZEC recorded in Zcash’s Network Sustainability Mechanism came from historically unclaimed subsidies and fees. The initial balance of 368.58445520 ZEC, plus 1.11895065 ZEC collected under NU7, therefore represented about 0.3% of the observed amount. NU7 directs 60% of the aggregate transaction fees from each block to the reserve, while miners receive the remainder after rounding down to the zatoshi. Reissuance of the accumulated funds will not begin until block 8,939,664, meaning future security support will depend on fee demand during the accumulation period. This initial snapshot cannot establish a sustainable annual funding rate or determine whether the reserve will ultimately be sufficient to finance network security.
